ELPT: Early Land Plants Today

Chicago meeting‎ > ‎

Targeted taxonomic groups

Targeted groups are listed below. Please contact Matt von Konrat if you have an interest in any particular group. There will be parallel sessions, so there may be two or more break-away sessions happening at any one time. We are currently preparing the schedule for these sessions and will try our best to avoid conflicting sessions. Notification to us of your groups of interest will greatly facilitate our planning. You can either email me directly or download the table below and return it with your desired groups. Thank you. The ELPT team.

Common objectives & goals for all taxonomic groups (N.B., Objectives that are specific to each taxonomic group will be prepared separately).
  1. Assess higher taxonomy, accepted genera, and alternative schemes.

  2. List of accepted binomials (for manageable groups only).

  3. Identify species complexes and taxa of contention.

  4. Develop strategy to reach primary ELPT goals (incl. soliciting individuals present at meeting or not to help lead and coordinate effort).

  5. List of potential content that could be contributed to EOL (nomenclature, geographical distribution, images, Virtual Curator designate, etc.).

  6. Identification of problems and pitfalls and identify problem areas in need of further research.
